"What God Has Joined"
The readings of today's Mass talk about the bond of love that marriage creates between a man and a woman, a bond that God does not wish to see broken. We come to this Eucharist as isolated individuals. But the Eucharist, properly understood and celebrated, creates a bond of love between us. Christ does not wish to see this bond broken. But unfortunately, through our selfishness and isolationisms, we often do break it. Let us ask Christ to forgive us, for he is full of gentleness and compassion.

"A Stumbling Block or A Stepping Stone"
Modern life has brought us closer to one another than ever before. We influence one another in all sorts of ways. God wants us to be, not stumbling blocks, but stepping stones for one another. Unfortunately we fail when we are unkind or unjust in the way we treat others. We fail to understand other's weakness, faults and mistakes and sins these will lead us easily to condemn and humiliate people. The Lord calls us to be a stepping stones, a help on the road to salvation for one another. Let us ask pardon for the harm we do and the good we fail to do to our brothers and sisters.
